Posted in the topic Thinking of buying a used BMW M4 – anyone know a good pre purchase inspector in Dubai? in the Forum News and Announcements
    May 24, 2026 7:32 AM PDT

I've been searching for a 2017 M4 for months and finally found one that ticks all the boxes, but I'm nervous because I've heard about crank hub issues and rod bearing failures on the S55 engine. Before I hand over any cash, I really want to get a proper BMW Pre Purchase Inspection Dubai done by someone who knows these performance cars inside out. I need a mechanic who'll do a compression test, scan for overrevs and hidden fault codes, check the charge cooler for leaks, and put it on a lift to look for any suspension damage or accident repair. Has anyone here used an independent inspector they'd recommend for an M car? I don't mind paying extra for a thorough report, I just want to avoid buying a car that's been tracked without proper maintenance. Any recommendations would be hugely appreciated.

Posted in the topic Anyone had a good experience with a Land Rover gearbox repair in Sharjah? in the Forum News and Announcements
    May 24, 2026 4:14 AM PDT

I'm really frustrated with my 2014 Range Rover's transmission – it's started slipping between gears when the engine is cold, and the dealer in Dubai quoted me nearly 9k AED just to drop the pan and "inspect". I've been asking around and heard that Sharjah has some indy shops that are much more reasonable, but I'm nervous about trusting just anyone with a ZF 8 speed. Has anyone here actually gotten proper Sharjah Land Rover Gearbox Repair done at a workshop that knows these trucks inside out? I don't want to end up with a botched job or someone who uses cheap parts. Any honest recommendations from fellow LR owners would seriously save me a lot of stress and money.

Posted in the topic Finally fixed my Range Rover's air suspension without the dealer ripping me off in the Forum News and Announcements
    May 24, 2026 2:33 AM PDT

I've been dealing with a sagging rear end on my 2016 Range Rover Sport for months, and the dealer in Dubai wanted nearly 15k AED just to replace the air compressor and one strut, which felt insane. A friend told me to check out some independent garages in Sharjah, and after a bit of searching I landed on https://caracrepairsharjah.ae/brands/range-rover/ class=""> and decided to give them a call based on the detailed info they had about common Range Rover issues. They diagnosed a leaking valve block and a worn compressor seal in under an hour, replaced only what was necessary, and charged me less than a third of the dealer quote. The car rides like new again and the height adjusts perfectly. If you own a Range Rover and you're tired of paying luxury prices for every repair, do yourself a favour and find a specialist who knows these trucks inside out instead of just throwing parts at the problem.

Posted in the topic Has anyone actually used this brake pad site or is it just another lead gen thing? in the Forum News and Announcements
    May 24, 2026 1:23 AM PDT

I've been trying to find a decent garage for my 2016 Lexus IS and I keep stumbling across this one page https://brakepadreplacementdubai.ae/ class=""> that looks clean but I can't tell if it's an actual workshop or just a middleman that forwards your number to random shops. Has anyone here booked through them or had any experience with the guys behind it? I'm tired of calling places that quote one price over the phone then add on "service fees" when I show up, so I'd rather go somewhere that's upfront and has real customer feedback. Just want a straightforward pad change without the usual runaround.

Posted in the topic P0420 code finally resolved – Jeep cat fixed without replacing the whole thing in the Forum News and Announcements
    May 18, 2026 4:54 AM PDT

I've been battling a check engine light on my 2015 Wrangler for months now, code P0420 popped up and stayed no matter how many times I cleared it. Two different garages in Mussafah told me I needed a full catalytic converter replacement for almost 4,000 AED, which I wasn't ready to spend on a ten year old car. A coworker suggested I find a place that actually diagnoses the root cause instead of just throwing parts at it. After some digging I found a shop that offers a Jeep Catalytic Converter Fix Abu Dhabi – they ran a proper backpressure test and discovered it wasn't the cat at all, but a lazy downstream oxygen sensor and a small exhaust leak at the flange. They welded the leak, replaced the sensor, and cleared the code – total cost under 500 AED. It's been three weeks and no more light. Such a relief to have passed registration without a huge bill. If you get that dreaded cat code, don't assume the worst until someone actually tests the system. Saved me a fortune.
